What if anyone could afford real art? That was the idea behind the Berliner Poster Verlag which I started with my wife Tine Furler in 2006. We had artists create posters that were original artworks in themselves. 16 posters a year! With a real store in Berlin as well as an fully functioning online store. Before Instagram! Famous contemporary artists! Lots of press! (even a the Bild-Zeitung!) TV! What could possibly go wrong? Well it turns out that people don't really want unlimited unsigned editions. They probably want signed limited editions. But anyone can do that...

The website is still up though: berlinerposterverlag.com
